Flooded Roads - Sri Mutiara Apartments

| Wednesday, February 11, 2009

This flood affects the tenants at Sri Mutiara apartments badly as they are on a slightly lower ground than the commercial centre, Wisma Mutiara. Their ground floor parking lots are flooded most of the time, what more their basement parking. The water could rise as high as 3 feet or more maybe.
Some more insurance policies don't cover these! Do they?! Can someone tell me if there is one policy which covers this? I sure sure go sell it to them. Sure make loads, coz I'm pretty sure everyone who owns a car, for sure will buy.

This has been happening more frequent lately. I'm not sure if the authorities are doing anything about it at all.
      The drainage system over at this area sucks.

For those who park at the Wisma Mutiara parking bays, their vehicles would be safe. But then again there's no easy way out either. The road between the apartments and the commercial building has water as high as knee level. The cars could hardly leave the building anyway, and so you're stuck there till the water subsides.

See the condition of the road between these two buildings. That's how bad the flood here is.

This poor chap was trying to get his car out. A couple of motorcyclist that was waiting for the water to subside helped him.

Notice how high the level of water is?

Alas, it's off the road and now parked right in front of the Wisma Mutiara parking entrance. Bro, now how lah these people gonna get into the parking bay... aijho!

This happens ever so often & we don't see any improvement at all.
Not even when they sent some DBKL fellas' over to clear up the drains that was overfilled with sand from God knows where!

When DBKL started to develop a piece of land (DBKL Flats) approximately 4 feet higher than the latter, things just got worse. Am not sure if that is the cause of it, but it seemed to have gotten from bad to worse. The flood there used to be just at about one foot high. Now it could sometime go up to 2 feet or more on the main roads.

What should these people do about it? This has been happening for ages. Am also wondering if the management at Wisma Mutiara did anything about it!

* sigh *
